Increased fine without the first notice: back to the original amount
Enter when the increased-fine notice was sent: the calculation says whether you can still ask for the review, and what you would then pay.
Getting an increased-fine notice (amende forfaitaire majorée) without ever seeing the penalty notice before it mostly happens after a move that was not recorded on the registration certificate: the first notice went to the old address, the 45 days to pay ran out, and the fine was increased. For an offence recorded by an automatic camera, the increased notice is sent by registered post. The Service Public page checked on 24 June 2025 then describes a review: within 3 months of the increased notice being sent, you must show that you declared the change of address to the registration service; you then have 45 days from that declaration to pay the standard fine. That payment cancels the increase, but the reduced rate is no longer available. For a class 4 offence, that means €135 instead of €375. Example: increased notice sent on 1 October 2026, proof due before 1 January 2027; new address declared on 20 October, payment due by 4 December 2026.
Due today: standard fine
€135
until 2 November 2026 inclusive, 10 days left
| Reduced until | 3 October 2026 · €90 |
| Standard until | 2 November 2026 · €135 |
| Contest until | 18 October 2026 |
| Deposit to contest | €135 |
| After that: increased | €375 |
| Increased, paid within 45 days of its notice | €300 |
An unpaid pay-and-display charge (forfait post-stationnement, FPS) is not a fine and follows other rules: it is contested with the town.

What you pay with and without the review
| Class | Increased | After review | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Class 2 | €75 | €35 | €40 |
| Class 3 | €180 | €68 | €112 |
| Class 4 | €375 | €135 | €240 |
The review brings you back to the standard amount, never the reduced one. The Service Public page limits it to increased notices sent by registered post, which is the rule for offences recorded by automatic cameras.

The two deadlines, step by step
First deadline: 3 months from the sending date printed on the increased notice, to prove the change of address. Second deadline: 45 days from declaring the new address, to pay. With an increased notice sent on 1 October 2026 and the address declared on 20 October 2026, the proof is due before 1 January 2027 and payment before 4 December 2026.
So it does not happen again
The address on the registration certificate must be updated within a month of moving, Service Public reminds drivers. A notice that is slow to arrive after a flash is often the first sign of an out-of-date address: the time after a flash page gives the usual delays. An increased fine received normally, after the first notice arrived, follows the rules on the increased fine page.
